We believe in the infinite potential of every child.
Our Montessori teachers, at Oakwood Montessori school in Lagos, are professionals who facilitate learning and help the child progress from one stage to the next. They are trained to observe and support the child’s development, knowing when to assist and when to stand back in order to allow the child ownership of the learning process.
We watch over the environment and removes anything which could interfere with a child’s learning. In educational terms, the teacher acts more as a facilitator rather than as an instructor.

Teaching Learning
Our goal is to teach our pupils how to think for themselves; how to look for answers without a guide or map and to think differently about problems.
Our curriculum is demanding. But it’s not based on passing a test. It’s based on thought, inquiry, and high expectations. We, at Oakwood Montessori School in Lagos, blend all these with fun, individualized instruction and the best ideas in progressive education.
Pupils are placed in classes according to ability. There is a frequent monitoring of pupils’ progress through standardized test. We are also regularly evaluating our own performance as teachers, always concerned to give your child the best education. Homework is given as a matter of policy and forms a vital link between home and school. Parents are encouraged to provide conducive homework space for the pupils and also to Supervise them.
